Vernacular tourism

Vernacular tourism is a holidays style that is designed based on local needs, availability of construction materials and reflecting local traditions. At least originally, vernacular tourism did not use architects or designers but relied on the design skills and tradition of local builders. 

It tends to evolve over time to reflect the environmental, cultural, technological, economic, and historical context in which it exists.

Vernacular tourism can be contrasted against polite tourism which is characterized by stylistic elements of design intentionally incorporated for aesthetic purposes which go beyond a building's/ object's functional requirements. 

The workshop will give the opportunity to construct an object as a way to be a Vernacular Tourist. The idea conflict when a tourist go to a place where he has to build the objects to have his vacations.
