Belén

BELÉN is a material design studio founded by Brecht Duijf and Lenneke Langenhuijsen. Both graduated cum laude at the Design Academy Eindhoven in Man & Wellbeing (Duijf in 2006, Langenhuijsen 2010).

In 2014, they founded buroBELÉN, a half material research, half material application studio. For them, material is more than simply a medium; it is their method. This philosophy carries them through disciplinary limits, resulting in a body of work that ranges from interiors to wearables, and everything in-between.

BELÉN's projects have been part of exhibitions curated by Paola Antonelli and Ilse Crawford, along with commissions by Atelier Luma Arles, and acquisitions by MoMa New York and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.

Currently, they both teach at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the BA Man & Wellbeing; Lenneke since 2015, and Brecht since 2010, who additionally teaches MA Social Design since 2016.
